Young Democrats of Louisiana Endorses Congressional, Mayoral and Metro Council Candidates
Baton Rouge, LA – The Young Democrats of Louisiana (YDL) announces its endorsement of Senator Mary Landrieu for re-election to the United States Senate.
YDL also endorsed Don Cazayoux for the 6th Congressional District race, Baton Rouge Mayor-President Kip Holden in his re-election bid, and Donald Hodge and Brett Jackson for East Baton Rouge Parish Metropolitan Council districts 11 and 12, respectfully.
All Democratic Congressional candidates were invited to speak with or send a representative to meet with the YDL Executive Board. Participating candidates took part in a question and answer session that covered issues from coastal restoration to issues to “don’t ask, don’t tell.”
“We’re really excited about the turnout and the response that we got from candidates. All of these candidates have thoroughly impressive backgrounds and they earned our endorsement. Their constituents will be in good hands if they are elected,” said YDL President Ralph Johnson.
The other YDL candidates endorsed were Jim Harlan (District 1), Cedric Richmond (District 2), Paul Carmouche (District 4) and Don Cravins (District 7).
The YDL is working to charter a chapter in all 64 parishes. Membership is open to all Louisiana residents supporting the Democratic Party between the ages of 14 - 36. For more information visit our website at www.ydlouisiana.org.
